what's the best NR rifle for 3 gun? Best as in, will give me the best score in the most variety of situations for someone who is starting out? Thanks!

any rifle that takes AR mags and can hold 2ish moa should do just fine

so XCR/ACR or Benelli MR1

or HK sl8 with a mag adaptor

Why isn't the Tavor in your list? Is the Benelli MR1 really more accurate than the Tavor?

you're looking for the "best option for possibly achieving the best score". Greater capacity and premium gear does not equal better scores/times. I've seen plenty of very high end rifles/optics fail to produce due to a poor operator. In fact I watched a guy with a Swiss/elcan setup running full capacity mags get his a$$ handed to him by a stock vz.

I'm going to be 'that guy'...
Any particular reason you want to limit yourself to a non-restricted rifle for 3-gun? Assuming you are going to run a restricted pistol, why not get into an AR? Arguably less expensive (certain versions) than the cheapest NR rifles out there, and about the best bang for your buck going for the attributes needed (accurate, light, ease of manipulation).

while this is true..... take two crappy shooters, give one a AR with a redot and three pistol mags, vs the other with a CZ/VZ with a reddot and 6 5 rnd mags.I would put my money on the AR/XCR/ACR etc etc

Ive used my Tavor for 3gun. Worked very well and I can change mags just as fast as I can with my AR. .5 of a second doesnt change much. I just use my AR because I can't take it to my farm to shoot.

.5 of a second is five rounds more I shot while you where loading.I have won and lost matches .only .3 diff in score

if his intent was to place high in competition he should not be looking at a NR in the first place as that is just another handicapp like the one you have just pointed out.

he asked for non Res it was only my suggestion to pick one the uses AR mags

maybe the OP can only afford to buy one rifle at this time and wants a rifle to take to the camp/bush/pit to practice with

truth be told "IF" the XCR had my KAC trigger, shot better then 2.5 moa and had a longer rail ( I find it short and I have long arms) I would run it in Tac carbine/3 gun

but its my bush and truck gun now

exactly why I though time/score was not at the top of his list of requirements and pointed it out just like you did with the mags.

I do think #### had it right.... ACR with a Non Res mid weight barrel should do awesome for a Usable all around gun"IF" it can hold 2 moa

To the OP, what rifle/rifles do you currently own? this will be more helpfull in choosing a NR for 3 gun as to know what you are familiar with so you don't have to learn everything over.

Two crappy shooters with the best gear still doesn't add up to a win so its a moot point.
