What's the best semi-auto rimfire regardless of cost?

Directly out of the plastic bag .. the Thompson R-55

well built, solid, easy to clean, can be fired as a single shot without the mag, deadly accurate for a semi out of the box.

Nice trigger too, but not as well built or easy to clean as the CZ511.

Yes! .. nice trigger as well. The CZ511 is easier to clean???? wow .. that must be easy!

As for the R-55 not being as well built .. not sure I agree with that statement. Having never seen a CZ511 up close, I will have to take your word for it!

The 511 is certainly cheaper!

:)

Holy thread revival.

I've always liked the Remington Nylon 66. Cool little gun, light as a feather to carry in the field. Just don't disassemble it!

The R-55 is a nice rifle, I owned a Silver Lynx (all weather), when torn down and put side by side to a CZ511, the craftsmanship is not quite as good. Still, a very well built rifle.

i think the new WEATHERBYxx11 is going to the top with its great looks and gret shooting .also comes in 17 hmrand 22lr DUTCH

Have a look at the American 180 177 or 225 round drum .22 lr. The most fun gun in .22 there is. The semi-auto model was prohibited by an act of Parliament!!!!

I'm kind of surprised the HK 270 hasn't shown up yet...

I`m impressed with the Winchester #63, and I do hope the CZ511 is as good as everyone says, I just bought one from a fellow CGNut:dancingbanana:

Some pictures of my 3 semi autos.
These are fairly main stream rifles. Some of the others mentioned may be nicer.

Ruger 10/22 target, Remington 597 TVP, and T/C benchmark R-55.
The Ruger and Remington have had the Falcon 4-14x scopes put on them. The R-55 got a Falcon 4.5-18x IR instead (The 4-14x went on a Ruger mini 14 target ;) )

You can't take this semi .22LR to the woods, but it sure is fun:
