Only with a much longer barrel than the 25-06. With the same length barrel 200fps to 250fps is much more realistic.

Is 2" much longer ?? That's the length it takes, 24" vs. 26". I've had both and currently only the 257, it's an impressive round when chronographed.
Nothing wrong with the 25-06, though.

That said, I'd pick a 300 magnum of some sort for sheep/goat.
