What's the best sniper rifle? Rem 700? Which model?

This guy started this thread, and got ripped on. There has now bin 6 pages of reply's and he has not once responded to any of the reply's ... Awesome ! He will never be on CGN again lol

No, he just moved on to other threads. I checked his latest posts.

I made a pretty stupid post when I got started on CGN, got "flamed" and I deserved it.

But I made it right, edited my post with an apology and got on with things.

I'm just getting into precision shooting too and appreciate all the experienced tips and advice in this thread, thanks guys - you make CGN work for newbies like me.

All the best.

Sniper just sounds so cool, people love saying it - what can you do?!

Newbies shouldnt have to apologize for not knowing every little detail of what is and isnt "socially acceptable" to the better informed. They should be guided to the correct path of enlightenment. Its not like this is a sport that can be learned in a day or can be googled for all the info youll ever need. There are so many small things you just cant get without asking... a new person shouldnt feel afraid to ask.

OK, I'll play :D

You could go old school...

As a relative newcomer to this site too, I'm sometimes astounded by the remarks thrown at other newbies. But like any internet site, one has to learn how to wade through the bad stuff and try to pick out that which will help.

Elitism is rampant on CGN , there are many guys on here who pray on new users just waiting to be dicks . Is this site not here to help people that are getting into the sport and hobby ? or just to belittle people that are less knowledgeable? I know 4 people personally who were so turned off this site when making their first post they never came back ..

wow... i never seen it that bad. never had any issues myself. thats too bad.

A Nagant sniper rifle would be a good start in center fire. Cheap shells and a reasonable priced gun. A .22 heavy barrel rifle is also a very good start in single shot or repeater. You can shoot bricks of shells all afternoon long and learn the process to being an excellent shot. Something no one has brought up is a Red Ryder BB gun. Take the sights off of the gun. It will teach you eye hand coordination because you can see the BB go. Shoot at very small objects. I was taught to shoot at BB's!! You can also get someone to throw small things in the air to shoot BB's at.
