Whats the closest powder to 5.56 nato?

I took apart a 223 nato round and the powder looks identical to BLC-2, I know this might not mean much. But whats the closest relative to Nato powder?

H335 and BL-C(2) are both pretty close to the powders used for US made 5.56 NATO ammo. The surplus WC 735 sold by Higginson's, which is a bit faster than H335, is one of the powders used to load 5.56 ammo.

It was my understanding that WC 735 was what Lake City used in making the 5.56 Nato but I could be wrong...

I think Lake City used WC-735 in loading 55 grain bullets. I think the powder they uses more recently for 62 grain ball ammo is a tad slower than WC-735.

I use WC-735 (24.5gr) with 55gr JSP... love it!

WC735 is pure cash money for loading 5.56-duplicate loads.

You can't tell anything about a powder other than the colour and grain shape by looking at it.
NATO spec ammo is about a specific velocity for the standard bullet weight. Current standard weight is 62 grains at 3025fps, measured 78' from the muzzle. Any powder that gives you that will do nicely.
