whats the deal with MP5s? prohib or no?

for a while wolverine was selling the chilean famae in 9mm. I'm sure there are folks out there who have done mp5-gery with the famae. But I just took a look on the wovlerine site, and it looks like they aren't selling them anymore.

Rhineland arms is suppose to be selling a dress up kit for the r22 that makes it look like a suppressed mp5. I do not know if it is available yet...but they had pictures on their web site.

The company doesn't sell to civvies now.

Klunk's gun looks cool but you can't take it to the range yet can you?

Fugly with the 16" barrel. But you could buy one and get a gunsmith the shorten it back to a cool gun again!

It looks bent in the picture because of either a poor photographer or a cheap lens on the camera.

Funny how the US has stupid laws that Canada doesn't and vice versa. NOT! :(

I saw a couple of UMPs around here once. Pretty sweet. They were about $6500 each. I like guns, but I don't like them that much.

Get a USC, chop the barrel and change the stock for the UMP's folding stock and there you go. A UMP for a fraction of the price.

Canadians can't buy them. It is not a 16inch barrel. The shroud is tacked on to make it legal. Cutting it back would make it either illegal, or you would have to go through the Short Barrel Rifle route, pay the tax, etc. etc.

If you want it shorter, then one would buy the pistol form. Adding a stock, though, would be illegal (see above).

This is the pistol...

The true MP5K look is not possible without the process.

But what about the B+T MP5 SF E3? I ask because the Steyr SPP and variants are also prohibited by name, yet the B+T TP9 is not prohib.

Different story. TP9 isnt a SPP variant, its a TMP variant which isnt prohibited by name, but because its FA. MP5 and all semi-auto cousins are named.

Where can you buy a UMP stock for the USC? If it's an easy operation, I'll volunteer to do it in the near future.

The novelty has worn off somewhat for me. But, its still my favorite full-auto to shoot... except for maybe the M249 SAW.

I'm getting the Bobcat Weapons BW-5 FSC unless Vector comes out with their 9mm version in the next month.

I got the monstrosity with the folding stock and 19" barrel... with the intention of SBR'n it down the road at some point.

No, not the name and city. Just a serial number.

And there is not inspections. Ronald Reagan signed a bill that gave protection NFA owners because the ATF was doing stuff like that. Unfortunately, it was the same bill that made the transfer of machine guns, registered after 1986, to civilians illegal.
