What's the dif between a P14 or P17

Smellie, did I miss or misunderstand something in your post about the Epps conversion? As you said the Norma used a .308 bullet while the P14 was bored for a .311. Doubt this would do much for velocity or accuracy.

Ellwood Epps used to run a .308 Norma Mag reamer through P-'14s and shoot 'em like that. Result was called a .303 Epps Magnum. Cheapest magnum rifle ever made, and worked good for cleaning up leades that were just a bit on the worn side.

Yah but not cheap to feed as .308 Norma Mag is about $85 per box of 20 rnds in our area. :D

You neck sized the 308 Norma brass with a 303 neck sizer, then loaded .311" bullets in it. I used to have one that used 300 Win Mag brass instead of the 308 Norma stuff, much cheaper to feed (and I already had a 308 Norma Mag). Also played with one that had been converted to a 9.3 x 300 Win Mag for a while, that was interesting. - dan
