What's the diff. between 762x51 and .308

308 Win vs, 7.62x51 pressure
Pressures are almost identical. I have worked in labs with pressure guns and tested lots of both flavours.
The confusion is that the original NATO spec used CUP values and SAAMI uses psi.
It is like comparing 100kph to 60 mph. Basically the same speed.
If I shoot 7.62 in a SAAMI chamber, the pressures typically run 55,000 to 60,000 psi - the same as 308 ammo.

All good information here! And yes, I built that M14 for Skullboy with a 2 thou crush because he was handloading and knew what he was doing. Everyone else gets a 1.63x and larger chamber from moi!
