What's the diff ?

I have 2 870 Police models but the 8.5" i ordered from Dlask is an Express model . I think there's a Wingmaster also . What's the diff ?

The Express is lower priced version of the 870.

Yeah, but what's the difference? If I'm getting my first (and probably only) pump action shotgun, should I be getting an express or a wingmaster?

I think the "finish" is the only difference? The Wingmaster has a highly polished and richly blued receiver(with some wildlife engravings) with high-gloss walnut stocks, whereas the Express has non-reflective black matte metalwork and a no-frills satin finish hardwood stock.

Wrong.

Try reading the link that Craftsman provided.

+ you cannot add a magazine extension to an express without drilling out the dimples in the mag (express models that come with an extension being the exception). Even then, your extension will constantly come loose because the Express doesn't use a ball detent.

If you want the better quality of the Wingmaster but the price of the Express then pick up an older used Wingmaster. lots of them around for under $300.
