What's The Difference Between A CDL & A BDL?

BDL Remingtons were the Deluxe version for years with a Cheekpiece, Monte Carlo stock and the hinged floorplate. Later BDL's were available in the DM option. Black forend tip and pistol grip cap. Most BDL sporters in non-magnum offerings had 22" barrels with a high gloss blued finish. IMHO, the stock seemed to be a bit on the "fat" side, especially around the tang area. The CDL is relatively newer, Custom deluxe, and is essentially the Mountain rifle stock design applied to a longer slightly heavier barrel. Non-magnums in the CDL have 24" barrels, and the metal finish is a bit more matte than was the BDL. No Monte Carlo comb on the stock, and a bit slimmer all around than the BDL. Offered in Hinged floorplate and DM as well. To Me, the CDL is a lot nicer stock. I have a couple of these with amazingly nice wood. Regards, Eagleye.

Indeed ,I have a CDL SF (stainless ,fluted barrel)in .300 WSM and it has a nice piece of wood on it.This gun really fits me well and with the R3 recoil pad, I can shoot it all day.I also just recently bought a Rem.700 LSS (Gray & black Laminated Stainless Steel)in .257 Weatherby Magnum......another beauty ! Just have not had a chance to get some glass on it yet and bring it out for sight in.
