What's the difference between Cooey model 60 and model 600 ?

Do you, or anyone else, know what an average price range on these would be?
I took mine on a trade and will be selling it.

I got mine for $100 when I did a face-to-face pickup, it was & is still is in good condition. :)

Most I have seen in the EEs have a price tag of between $100 and $150. A little more if it is c/w scope and mount. there are really a lot of them being bought and resold recently.

That sounds accurate. :yingyang:

These rifles will outlast (and outshoot?) their users, more often than not....;)

I will let you in on a secret, if you don't tell anyone.
I once put scope mounts on a Cooey, and only used J-B Weld.
It held solid through use and was still on there, solid as a rock, when I finally sold the rifle.

My front sight on a Cooey is two pieces of plastic cut from a pop bottle cap, held onto the barrel by a plumbing clamp. It aims just fine, and is easier to adjust.

I also made a raised front sight from a piece of plastic and a 9x19mm casing - just filed the base until it fit in the notch.

Have a couple of 600s. I'm not positive that the bolts are interchangeable between the 60 Cooey and the 600 Winchester/Cooey. Also the 600 has a set screw, while the 60 has that twisted hand tighten screw knob (Which I actually like better).

I just picked up a cooey 600 in person and paid $120- but it has a repaired crack in the stock and blueing is about 60-70%, cleaned up decent and Shoots great too !

I love it!...:D.....

According to "Cooey Firearms Made In Canada 1919-1979" There are three eras for the model 60: 1939-40 to the mid 50's, mid 50's to 1961, and 1961 to 1967 (Winchester era). Each has variations in amongst the standard production models with differences like sights, bolt knobs, loading ports etc. Then with the model 600 (1967-1979) there are at least five known variations as well.

As good if rather short, book that it is, there are still a lot of gaps in information. It would really be great to have the community get together and pool our knowledge and analyze each variation based on owned models in our collections.

Post some pics of this I think we all would like to the set up.
