What's the difference between Sig 226 Navy and Combat?

Am trying to choose between a Navy, or a Combat. I believe both have phostphated internal parts. The only difference I see is the colour of their finish and the Navy has an anchor. Are there other variations to these 2 models that I don't know of? Which would you choose?

Check Sig's website for a complete listing of the spec's and photos of both pistols. It appears that the Combat has a chromed and phosphated barrel as well as night sights although I have heard from Sigforum members that the Navy is now shipping with night sights but they are not listed as so in the catalogue.
Unless you are using the pistol in a sal####er enviroment I don't think that there is a real advantage to having phosphated internals. The conscensus is that there is no real difference in performance between a regular 226 and the Navy version so if you are paying a big premium to get one you are really just paying for esthetics. Of course there's nothing wrong with that but phosphated internals will not turn any 226 model into an X-5. Buy whichever one you like more and I'm sure that you will be happy with either one.

This gun is real hot. I saw it at 6 p.m at italian sporting goods in Vancouver and called the next day at around noon to see if they still had it. It was gone. I am not sure, but I believe the price is 1,149, or 1,049.

The Sig website says the combat can come with a threaded barrel, but the description of the Navy has no mention of it. There may be other small differences. Does anyone know of anymore and can someone please varify if the Combat is the only one of the two that can come with a threaded barrel?

They are nearly the same...

Navy is 9mm 226 only, DA/SA, comes with Contrast sights, Polymer Grips, Aluminum Frame/SS Slide, Black HC/Nitron Finish, Anchor Engraving, Anti-Corrosion Coatings, (No threaded barrel version available).

Combat is 45 P220 or 9mm 226, DA/SA, comes with Siglite Night Sights, Polymer Grips, Aluminum Frame/SS Slide, FED HC/Nitron Finish, Flat Dark Earth, Anti-Corrosion Coatings, available in Threaded or non-Threaded barrel versions.

Combats sell for $1,200 ($1,272 with threaded barrel)
Navy is on right now for $1,020

They are VERY similar... but different ;)

Everyone seems to be missing the real distinguishing feature of the COMBAT models that no other 220/226 have.

The combat models have real 1913 spec Picatinny rails, some holsters have trouble with them as the rails are larger than regular sig spec.
