Guys does anyone know what the difference is on the construction of the Tavor QD mount... What I mean is when you take off the front sling mount of the Israeli Tavor there is a threaded rod that screws in to the backing and then a cotter pin that keeps in place. Now does the American one have the same idea but instead of it being a sling it's a QD mount? If so can we buy them here?

Yes - the US version is simply a replacement for the front QD attachment.

The rear QD mount has a molded "tube" to support the rear connection ..... Different from the model in Canada.

Do not know if or who would have these available here. Doubt its available.

Hope this helps.

Codfan ya, thanks to CGN someone "sorry can't remember name" told me to put on a Mesa Tac 870 QD through the rear hole and make the rear of the Tavor QD which works amazing!! BUT I want a front QD, and the rod for the front won't fit in the hole to repeat the process!

Yup, the rear QD "trick" works well. But you are SOL for the front unless you can grab a part off a US model Tavor...... edit: Or do something custom as per the post below.....

Lol. It's a standard QD socket with a long bolt going through that has the same thread pitch as the plastic thingy with the retaining pin. I had to file the bolt head down some in order for it to fit but it's AWESOME!!!
I plans to drill the polymer out so that it will sit lower. Not sure what to do with the rear. I have the Rem receiver pin but I don't like that it protrudes.
Ideas?

Ok So the front is a Mesa 870 as well? And you filed the circular metal hole? Cause I can't fit the 870 in the front? Thanks and sorry for all the ?

Actually, my place if employment has all sorts of bit and pieces in the maintainance shop. Give me a day or two and I'll tell you the exact size/pitch.

Tried it, gotta be careful as it may effect cheakweld. Just use a Magpul rail mounted qd mount for the front. As long as you are not running long tubed or really forward sitting optics it works good.

This. I use the Magpul Qd rail mount at the front and Flex at the back with a blue force gear padded two point sling. Best set up I have found so far.

Got the same sling.

I am getting a Savy Sniper sling next. Red Deer Shooting Center is the only distributor for them in Canada and they are NICE. Only reason I dont have one yet is they ran out of the FDE color and metal clips/etc. I wanted. They still had olive drab and black a week ago.

What is really nice about the Savy Sniper is it has all the features of a BFG vickers, except better hardware (metal, not plastic), plus it can go from a 2 point to a single point instantly. Mac from the Military Arms Channel on youtube almost exclusively uses Savy Sniper Slings.
