Whats the farthest north have we seen Turkeys?

I guess it depends on the area, I know they are still around Noelville but they have not taken off like the rest of the relocation zones. It is good to hear that people are starting to see them up north.

I've seen turkeys just south of Gravenhurst on both sides of Hwy 11. I had two hens stroll right by me last fall while hunting grouse and rabbits near Kashe Lake and heard several birds on the other side of the Hwy near Sparrow Lake as well. About two years ago I saw a huge flock around Sparrow Lake (I lost count somewhere after 30) and called up the MNR to inquire about the possibility of a season there. Alas the area is part of WMU 46 which extends up to Parry Sound, and it does not sound as though they'll be contemplating a season until there's a huntable population throughout the unit.

Just a wee bit further south I saw a group of birds in a field, basically across the Hwy from Elwood Epps, though that's hardly a surprise since there's a good amount of farmland up to that point.

Cheers,

Frank
