Where did you get the deact FN?

My dream gun is a DSA SA58 clone (Short para), but the only way that I'll be doing any such thing is by having a 12(3) or 12(5) holder build it for me then deactivate it.

Such a sad end. It really p*sses me off to hear of people dewating guns. Even worse that its a collection. I was born way to late to own anything with a 12.X status. I would give my left nut to have one.

As 12x, FN hardly worth anything. As a dewat, it can easily fetch $600 & up. Rather easy choice for a seller.

gtiguy, I believe your Israeli FN only comes with one ring in front.

A sad end for a great rifle!!

Too bad, I hope you will enjoy it in your collection. With our Draconian laws, its the only way many of us may own one. Would love to be allowed to shoot one at the range; accurate, heavy and tough as nails. A cinch to take apart for cleaning, one can dream!!!!

About the missing "ring" on the gas tube. It is NOT missing. There is only supposed to be one. There are two slots to fit the ring on the handguards because the two handguard halves are identical, just like the M-16A2/C7, so they can be used for either "side".

Every Israeli FN I have ever seen, in the flesh or in pictures has only one ring.

Israeli FNs are neat because they seem to be based on the earlier "EX" trials rifles and the early "FN Canada" models and have old style "paperclip" extractor retaining pins and wierd selector switches with "s" in the middle position, just like the early trials rifles. Not to mention the uniquely isreali front handguards and lack of flash suppressor (another "early" trials rifle feature).
