Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

Owned a 460 Wby, for a while, that I never shot.

Does that count? :D

Ted

Was out yesterday with my brother doing some shooting in a big slash. Just off hand practice with a few guns before the season. Between us we got off 13 rounds of factory 500 gr. 460 WBY. The 270 and 308 are quite nice after a few of the big ones. Apparently the 460 is zeroed as several 6" rocks at 100 yds. were powdered.

Buddies Rem 700 Classic in 8mm Mag and my bosses new Browning Shorttrac in 270 WSM. Not a big caliber but the gun has no weight at all and the shoulder takes the punch. I'll stick with my 99 in 375 Win, it's a lamb compared to those other two.

My model 10ML-II Savage Muzzleloader 50 cal. Synthetic Camo Stainless.

I have never shot anything with that quick of recoil. I have shot lots of fireams and always thought my buddies single shot 12 ga was the worst but that Muzzleloader has the quickest recoil I have ever fired, jumped right out of my hands the 1st shot. I fired it 6 times in total with only a tee shirt on and it marked my shoulder up. Just like a bunch of long twist hickies. Guess the hard rubber recoil pad must have been gripping my hide.

Think I will add some weight and maybe find a better recoil pad for it before I try it out again.

Guess for me it would have been as a kid with an old Iver Johnson 10 gauge. Kinda hurt as a kid learning to hold the darn thing right, but put a smile on my face! However, I just bought an old Winchester model 1895 in 405WCF (the one Roosevelt referred to as "Big Medicine" which he carried for big game in Africa) so I'm thinking this may surpass that. Just glad this big gun has a shotgun buttplate, rather that the crescent!

I feel no pain:D

That's because when you keep breaking your shoulder it heals into a mass of boney plate harder then a Rhino's head. :D

3" magnum round in a 12 gauge shotgun with a steel recoil bad.....it hurts enough to shed a tear! Not recommended.

+2 100%. Fired from plastic-fantastic feather light Mossberg. Loaded with slugs or buckshot. Recommended to try... once...

a barrett m99 bolt action .50 caliber sniper rifle was the hardest for me. no recoil pad, no recoil reduction system. just me, a 25lb hunk of steel and a .50cal round. man did it ever kick me square in the shoulder and left a big black bruise for two weeks!!
