It also depends on what you are planning to do with the rifle.
Some people like to leave their rifles stock, and fair enough, but that's never been me with anything I have owned.
May people replace triggers, BCG and barrels over some time. As such several manufacturers, including Stag, come out with the bare bones build kits.
There are several good build threads on Stag and BCL here. What I don't like doing is paying more for nice, but not good enough parts, only to have to replace and sell them again.
I am a big fan of the ergos of the BCL, as well as the ergos and stock trigger of the RA XCR-L.
I also like how my Tavor shoots with the the geissele trigger bow, which puts me at odds of many other people, who just cannot get their heads around a bullpup.
As far as I can tell, out of all the NR rifles sold in Canada, it is only the Tavor battle proven rifle, and from my personal experience, it is the one tactical rifle that never fails, never jams and never breaks.
Due to it's size and balance the Tavor is the best rifle for use with a vehicle, IMHO. If I was back flying in and out of the bush, I would give the Tavor 7 (308) serious consideration, along with my 12 gauge.
The Tavor is hands down the favorate of the small women in my family. They can just pick it up and shoot it all day.
In short, the best NR "Tactical" rifles is the rifle that fits you the best and suits your needs.
Try as many as you can and be honest of what you plan on doing with the rifle. Range Queen, competition, 3 gun, hunting, etc.
The nice thing about the AR platform is that there are very easy to work on, youtube is full of how to videos.
IF I was to want another AR (10 or 15) I would build my own and build it to my specs and purpose.
