Not trying to start a flame war here or anything. But, i'm not sure i get the knock on Glocks that some have said. It's seems like a proven pistol that just plain works. Fires just about anything you put into it. Seems to be VERY reliable and durable. Other then the Looks and the fact it doesn't fit everyone's hand.

I get that with some Pistols, you either love em or hate em. But the Glock should be the exception to the rule......at least from the outside looking in.

I like the GLOCK pistols. Great combat/service pistol for the price. Among the best (if not the best) striker-fired pistol imo.

I dislike the fanboys community that saved for 2 years and could finally manage to shell out 700$ on a pistol and absolutely think it's the best pistols in the universe because they can drop at 34000 feet from a plane in the grand canyon, drive a tank over it or put it in the dishwasher and it'll still shoot.

But most users are cool ;)

The Glock family of pistols are Field proven. Thousands of military and law enforcement members from around the world depend on these pistols everyday in life threatening situations. If the pistol can do that, then it will punch holes in paper too ;)

I hate glocks and recently discovered that I shoot them very straight...it was crushing. I now own a glock, but I am not proud. Long live the 1911!

Long live the 1911!

Yup, in the handgun world the 1911 is long lived & no signs of slowing down. I love 'em. Especially, in WWII era 1911A1 trim.

That said, I admire the Glock. Butt ugly, no romance. But simply put, Glocks work.

Been shooting them since ~ 1994. Have put thousands of rounds down the pipes of Glocks. Never had an issue with any of the ones I shot.

My go to in a SHTF scenario would be a Glock 22 .40 S&W stoked with Speer Gold Dot 180 gr JHP's.

NAA.

I owned a Gen 4 G17, and sold it a few months later. I like the looks of them, it fit my hand and I didn't mind the trigger, but I always pulled my shots with it. I could have just practiced and got better with it, but I figure I had other handguns that I already shot better so I might as well put my time in with them.

Back in the days of Thunder Ranch, Galco leather holsters, crossed thumbs grips, and Series 70 Colts with a throat job for HPs, and anything else made you ###, there were a lot of guys who were extremely skeptical of the new plastic guns and their wussy europellet round.

At this stage of the game, if you haven't woken up to the fact that the Glock is one of the best service pistol options ever built, you are pretty much on the same level as the guys who will never drive a Japanese car, because real quality cars are American.

There are some legitimate critiques of the Glock. But if you don't think they are a primo choice for a fighting pistol, you should not be taken seriously on the subject of handguns.

I only ever shot a 40 S&W. It functions well, is simple and reliable. My issue is that it just didn't fit my hand and it wasn't comfortable to shoot. I do love my M&P 45 though.

I think you either love them or hate them. There is no question they work and they work very well. The problem I see is they have no character they are just a plain no frills box that works. Nothing there to be proud of.

Now if we could carry them in Canada I think you would appreciate them a lot more for there weight etc.

I have owned a few and they all worked great. I hated the triggers and I guess I could have gotten used to them but why bother when I had other guns that had great triggers.

Just my two cents worth.

I've never fired a Glock. I was under the impression that they had a decent 5.5lbs trigger pull.

Glocks are super reliable and that's the big selling point. They are very simple to maintain and repair. They are designed for LE and military and very cheap when bought in big quantity.

I really like Glocks, but their are some better pistols in the field..... Remember that military and LE in general buy the lowest bidder for contract. Their is reason why they are so popular :)

I'm almost tempted to get one just because "it's a Glock" (terrible reasoning I know) and they DO work quite well. for me, they just don't fit my hand well but i sure wouldn't whine much if i was given one or had to rely on one for my safety/life

Google "Glock Torture Test" thousands of hits. This pistol is the definition of reliable. Aim and shoot.

That is all

I love my MP 9 and i ive fired a couple of Glocks and find them good as well. Its all personal choice. Like any other sport/hobby you'll get snobbery. 1911's are pretty cool though.
