Whats the most durable paint for a barrel??

Sure, i have decided to rattle can it.

I bought a can of high temp (2000 degrees) auto-engine paint in flat black so we'll see how it goes.
It's just a 10/22 build but hopefully it holds up to at least a little abuse.
Can always re apply.
 
I do all of our barrels and actions in Duracoat. It is one of the easiest to apply. Prep is the key. Even cheap hand held sand blasters can key the metal OK to get the paint to hold well. I have some field rifles that have been sprayed tens years ago and still look perfect. Trick is to oil and wipe off the surface after a few days of curing.
