what's the most useless gun ever

Curt, i ain't trying to irritate ya, hell, if I wanted to do that, I easily could, but I like my neighbors to the North. If'n any of ya'll made it down to Colorado I'd gladly take ya out to shoot some prarie poodles with and AR or any thing else I have. Hell, i'm just a PM away. Les

A PM :), and 2000 miles :(. Thanks for the the offer. If I'm headed that way anytime soon, I'll take you up on that though. It was actually in your fine country that I fired my first gun. A rented 44magnum. I'm just jealous of some US laws sometimes. But being as my wife just gave birth this morning in a fairly complicated fashion, I'm pretty happy for my socialized medicine. Mommy and my girl, Josee, are doing great, but I'd hate to see the bill if I had to pay for all that.

Yep, good old socialized medicine - Tries to do everything for everyone, and manages to do not enough for anyone....

Purely my humble opinion, from having worked in hospitals for five years, and had a good friend's physician husband lose it from stress.

But - Back to the topic at hand.... I also vote for ANYTHING MADE BY NORTH CHINA INDUSTRIES as being less than a useful book end.

The .303 British were heavier than a crowbar and some 30-30 lever actions had bad bad ballistics

Guess that deer I shot in November 2005, at 260 yards, should get up and join the ranks of the living huh?

With a 30-30 Winchester Carbine, by the way. One shot-bang-flop.

The only thing that makes these choices useless, is a bad bad trigger operator.

To many posts naming the SKS and the wonnderful S&B M-16, and not enough naming the biggest POS rifle ever sold for a price at least 4x it's worth....

The ruger Mini-14

Also, the IGA .410 backpacker is lousey with shot....but not too bad with a slug.

The MOST usless gun you can own , is one you DON'T shoot.
2 year rule....if you haven't shot it in 2 years, sell it and buy more ammo for the ones you do.

Wow, you are a much wiser man than me as I totally agree with you but cannot follow your rule, every time I think of selling a safe queen I think, "Oh I`ll regret it when its gone." I know what a dolt huh? Oh well the collection keeps getting bigger.:dancingbanana:

The most useless gun I seem to have is the bolt action .410, But I think it'll see some action in the fall for grouse. And the SKS was made(better) in places other than China. Anyone can make any GOOD rifle into a POS with bad manufacturing.

the only thing wrong with the mini-14 was people expecting a lightweight, absolutely reliable, $700 semi-auto carbine to be sub-MOA.

i was perfectly happy with my offhand 4-5 MOA groups using open sights and the cheapest ammo. the rifle was never designed to be a sub-MOA rifle (i should note that now after i added a front and back buffer and a heavy flash hider my group size shrank nearly in half). it works when filthy, ejects every time (albeit half a football field away), is easily scopable, is a spinoff of one of the best semi-auto actions, and is accurate enough for what it was designed for.

i think people who constantly nitpicked about mini-14 accuracy completely missed the point of what the rifle was marketed for.
