I just think the 17 HM2 is pointless. at least the HMR is able to get some good speeds and fill a niche of a 200 yard gopher rimfire. The HM2 is probably good for squill

SAUM are probably "pointless" with the introduction of the WSM a year prior, but they are not "useless", they are just as good as any other cartridge around their performance range

useless is something that has no real use, at least to the majority of shooters. Someone will always NEED a 17 HM2 or...505 Gibbs

Useless (literally, having no utility): only one I can think of is the .22 shot shell. Can't shoot targets, can't shoot clays, can't kill varmints bigger than a mouse more than 5 feet away. I want to like it, but what's the point of this round again?

Pointless: lots, but the .30 T/C is my new fav-o-rite. It's the .308! Introduced all over again! If you look closely you can see the wires making Boddington's lips move!

Exactly what I use them for! Nailing invasive mice, pack rats and SQUILL with a revolver!
