I have used both the 280 and the 7mm and I would also recommend the 308 or even better the 7-08. If you plan to do any handloading you can use the same bullets in your 308 and your dads 30-06. Good luck

i'm a big fan of the .350 Remington mag. in the new Remington, recoil isn't that bad at all.

350 rem mag looks cool but it's to expansive. and what does 6.5x55 compare to besides 260 rem
