I've been away from the deeper stuff on CGN for a while (I love you, funny picture threads!)

what's the current status of the 10 round limitation on the Ruger 10/22?

the 100 round drums and 25 round banana mags prohib now? :yingyang:

Yup, the 10/22 is at a 10rd limit now since it's mags fit into the Charger pistol......fun times we live in. Really saddening that so many people have to pinheir mags now and that there's no grandfather style clause for them.

Yep but only the standard capacity mags that can fit in the Ruger 10/22's are banned. 10 rounds, now. Thank you RCMP. Fortunately? There are a ton of other semi-auto .22's which aren't affected.

In reality, the mags are in a real grey area of the law right now.. Best to be "law abiding" and not use them!

The magazine issue with the 10/22 magazine is the least of your worry.
What do think is going to happen when some do gooder finds out how simple it is modify the firearm to fire full auto?
Heads are gonna explode with this common knowledge that is readily available on the internet.

Do you really believe everything you see on the internet? Converting any firearm from semi-auto to full auto is like changing a Ford to a Toyota. Messing with a certain firearm's trigger assembly to "bump" fire or hair trigger is simply a Darwin Award qualification.LOL

Never mind tinkering with the sear... If they won't let us use our magazines, we'll need to find a better way to deal with the ever growing rodent problem...

Anybody knows which fertilizer is best for ANFO?

You don't have to pin your high-capacity 10/22 mags. There is a legal action by the Canadian Shooting Sports Association (CSSA) and the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association (CSAAA) going on against prohibition by the RCMP of the extended capacity rifle magazines.
This is what the CSSA and CSAAA recommend:
"Individuals are advised not to use, transfer, dispose of, alter or modify, or transport these magazines at this time. At this time, due to the controversy, importers, dealers and individual owners are advised to stop sales and transfers of all 10/22 high capacity (over 10 rounds) rifle magazines. Businesses are cautioned not to attempt to “pin” magazines unless their licenses specifically authorize work on prohibited magazines. We are advising against businesses or their customers surrendering or returning these magazines to anyone at this time. If you are the consumer owner of one of these magazines, your participation in the action is very much desired".

If you have a limited amount of mags and want to use them in the meantime, it might be prudent to pin them instead of buying a bunch of 10s. A rivet can be easily removed if this lawsuit is successful. I don't know anyone that would care if they saw someone with an unpinned 30 round mag but there always seems to be that one guy.

But they are taking their own sweet time.
I donated to the cause and we are yet to see anything. How long does it take to get this rolling and an update once in a while wouldn't kill them.

They do update more or less every week if you are a member and I see that you are. You get an updating e-mail from them. The last update I've got says:

"CLASS ACTION 10/22 + 10
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
UPDATE: March 10, 2017
Many of you are asking about the progress in the case. We are still preparing technical reports and are very close to launch. We will keep you posted as developments occur".

I understand that this particular case will be very difficult. They will do a frontal attack on the whole might of the RCMP that have, in essence, unlimited resources to fight (your pockets). Therefore, the CSSA must carefully prepare all the logistics they need. We must be patient.

Okay so the unofficial RCMP policy appears to be "if you catch ANYONE having fun with anything? You have to prohibit and ban it ASAP!"
