Whats the slimmest BUIS?

Can you do that as a feature? (Remove the small aperture?) Or do you have to take a dremel to it?

Edited to add: Pull back on the BUIS or the lockbar?

The sight is easy to disassemble, there is only a pin holding it together as seen in the pic, once that is out you take out the small aperture and reassemble, for me this was a good idea as I only wanted it as a BUIS and peeling the small aperture with gloved hands was a total non starter. If finer work is anticipated then leave it in, but a BUIS is not supposed to double as a NM sight in my opinion. I'll be going to the KAC 300m unit in a few weeks as my "dealer" is bringing in one for me.

Really? The KAC300 just doesn't look sturdy enough...

Real warriors have been using them on two way ranges for over a decade, it would seem a tad arrogant for a civilian end user like me to even debate the sturdiness of the unit, it's "almost" folly to install a BUIS anyway, "backup" for what? incase the paper shoots back? I'll just stay in my lane on this one. The ARMS series are real nice units, I just worship at the altar of Kevin Knight...I mean Reed Boland...I mean Kevin Reed...forget, I'm going to consult the doll now.;)

Hey, who you callin "dealer"?

I, too, can't wait to try the Kac300 and LaRue, and really find out for myself if fixed or flip is best for 'me' with the EO. Kumee here, steered me clear of arms, troy, LMT, and saved me some change, thanks bro, BO errr Kumee KNOWS, maybe you should be getting a doll too, .......now to get you that BIS;)

Funny thing is most everyone who has a KAC 300 BIS is actually using a knock-off version...if it does not have the pop out plactic smal aperture then it is a FUGAZI. Some are very well made though and all that is necessary is to drill out the aperture to a more "Ghost Ring" type.

I bought mine from Kevin B. so I know it's not a knock-off.

I bought it knowing that the insert wasn't with it but have no problems using it at 100 m or less.
