Whats the smallest handgun we can get?

There is a large derringer called the Bond Snakeslayer that meets legal requirements but the smallest genuine semiautomatic is the HK P7 -- 9 mm, 8 round magazine. These are both serious weapons, not toys; the Bond fires .45 ACP and .410 shotgun shells.

I have this for sale right now! .22mag and .22lr cylinders.

Other than some shorter barrelled antiques this is as small as it gets!

Antique, cash and carry, American gun ownership right here in Kanada. Tons of these .32 rimfires are around, if you feel like building your own .32 rimfire ammunition. There's a recipe on the Antique
forum and Tactical870 builds refillables if you're undermotivated.

This is at least 1/8" smaller than the Baby Browning, a Walther Model 9. If a blood relative has their 12(6), this one is 12(7) eligible (made before '46) so you could own it. Look up section 12(7)... I'll need to take this one to ther range again and shoot out the bullseye at 5 meters. They do that.

Restricted? Smaller than a re-barreled PPK, if you want something that isn't a .22, this one is about the smallest overall in restricted .380. Inexpensive to buy, a restricted FN/Browning 1910 can be almost 1 cm shorter than the one pictured here with a 1922 barrel in it. Let me know if you want one! I have some extras.

And then all the other ones posted here... lots of small choices!

The NAA Earl and Minimaster are definitely among the smallest restricted only. Bond Arms Snakeslayer is small too.

Thanks for all the replies guys; lots to think about; I've handled a few but I'm leaning towards some in the Glock 26/makarov size range. Maybe a bersa (unsure if legal) can you guys advise who sells these tiny handguns ? :p (as for the makarov; only if its modern looking...not a fan of mil-surp looking stuff )

My little Astra in .22 short. The nice thing about it is that I can afford to shoot it! .25 ACP is spendy for what you get. It's the same as a Colt Junior above.

The magazines for these Astras are rarer than an honest Lieberal with commonsense.

Like Geoligist says - the little rimfires are the only affordable tiny guns to shoot and yes, the 25 acp is silly - no way you can find the little cases to reload. I have lots of little ones, but I much prefer a little larger - almost hand-sized gun that can consistently - uh - could - uh - actually hit a partridge if - um - the occasion actually arose. I think that every small plane should have a midsized Beretta .22 in the survival pack.

If you have restricted Pal, tell me what you prefer and I can likely fit you out.

I do. Preference wise I'm looking for something that shoots 9mm perferably.... Is tiny; and capable of repeat shots (obs with barrel lengthened to legal limits.)

Take a look at the HK P7. They can be found used but they still demand pretty good money. They are well made though. I have one and it is a great shooter.

Beretta 71, alloy frame, accurate, light weight, small yet still fills the hand, reliable with most ammo, not finicky at all.
