Likely made for WWII by Remington Rand and surplused after the war. IDK what the current value of these is, but IIRC Remington-Rand made nine hundred thousand during WWII.

Well someone in the EE, is asking 3500 for their 103, x x x SR# Rem Rand 1911

Rock Island Auction, had one sell for about 2300 USD, in the 240K Ser# range.

Tiriaq is right about the sights. The guy selling 2 RR 1911s in the EE, the sights are much lower.

Worthless....10$ on its way to you...shipping info to follow...need parts...lol...very nice..even if it’s not completely standard..

Too bad about the replacement sites. Finish is not the best. But it otherwise appears to be correct. Small parts & markings, etc.

Probably in the $750 to $850 range, would be my guess.

Molested and no service history. One of hundreds of thousands RR's made during WWII. Seriously, I don't see the attraction other than to say you own a surplus WWII 1911 service pistol. I feel NAA is being generous.

Nice old handgun. Probably sell quickly at around $750-$850. I would shoot the old girl a bit first. I bought ten old 1911’s back in the day from Alan Lever. Like a dumb cluck, I sold them all. Love the old 1911 style.

Circa 1991, Mr. Lever let myself & two friends pick thru a couple crates of beater surplus 1911/1911A1's he had in the back room. We fished out 12 serviceable examples & got them for $100 ea plus prov sales tax [no GST back in those days].

Yes, it would have been around then. Of the ten I got, nine were actually shooters, and one needed a bit of love. I was on the verge of getting my dealer license and he agreed to hold ten for me. I was in his old store a couple of times, too. He had some great stuff from ships in there.

The slide alone is worth $500+

Great gun, amazing service pistol that will continue to go up in value
$850 is too cheap. Show me another war issue 1911 sitting around for that price
