Got this in a trade and reall have no idea what it's for. The scope it's self has no adjustment and depends on the mount.

Markings on the Scope are: "BALFOR A" "BAUSCH & LOMB" serial number and "ROCHESTER, N.Y. U.S.A." by the eye peice

Markings on Mount: "BUEHLER ORINDA, CAL."

It's an old Balfor scope with a Buehler maount.
The adjustments are on the base, which you obviously don't have!
I'm sure thay can be bought however, maybe check with Wes at ellwood Epps.
he may hhave a line one one for you.

I think if you look at the rear ring area, there are windage and elevation adjustments built into the mount. Unless there is some model code on the mount though, it might be hard to determine what rifle the mount is intended to fit.

There should be a code number somewhere on the mount. If you find it then call the Weatherby customer service dept (805) 466-1767 and ask if they have a chart that shows Buehler code numbers. Weatherby & Buehler were connected for years. Your mount may or may not be for a Weatherby rifle but old Buehler references should clear that up.

Ectually, chaps, the mount is complete "as-is".

I have the identical beast on a '95 Mauser in 6.5X57.

The front section attaches to the front receiver ring. Elevation is adjusted by the large flat dial on the rear; it "flexes the entire mount. Windage is adjusted be the two opposing screws on the rear, the same as coarse left-right adjustment on Redfield mounts.

Oldbadger has it right! It is complete as it is. I have the same setup on my old FN 300 H&H.

Also have a base for a Mauser 98 FN and the rings, both brand new in the box. :)

The Balfor is a four power, and the mount will have the model code under the strap that connects the front and rear portion of the base.

If you look closely, you will see graduations on the top of the elevation wheel, and on the base around the right hand windage screw.

They are a bit complicated to set up and the ring set comes with shims that must be installed properly or the rings will break. :(

I will photocopy the instructions from my new set for you, if you want.
