I bought my GF a Turkish shotgun and it has this high front sight that I would like to lower closer to the barrel.

It mounts over a piece of steel welded to the barrel and tightens against the steel with a set screw

Total overkill for what we are using it for (hunting grouse)

I'd like to have a sight that mounts the same way but doesn't lift so high up.

If anyone can tell me what this is called and its mounting style name, I can start my searching.

Much appreciated!

Jeff

I've figured out that it's a ghost ring sight, I just can't figure out what to call the mounting system to get a more streamlined lower mount

Looks like front sight from Turkish Sinssinati shotgun, there are shorter sights get in touch with Corwin Arms in Kamloops.

You probably know this, but a lower front sight will raise the point of impact unless you can also lower the rear sight/sighting point.
