Didn't they used to give out .303 surplus back when there was still some around? Back when owning a gun was a perfectly normal thing to do?
Dad bought a WW2 .303 with 2000 rounds for 25.00 in the early 50's when they were surplusing them. I remember hunting jack rabbits when I was a kid in the early 70's with that .303 and I had enough foresight to keep 200 rounds out of the lot for the future. Wish I had kept the cardboard box they came in.
