Remington Model 12 - 22 cal. pump (circa 1930) From grandpa > Dad > me. Still have it and it's in terrific shape. Going to one of my boys.

My first was a 10/22 carbine that a friend gave to me after his fathers boat sank. He lost his father, and this rifle was one of the things the divers brought back up. my father refinished it for me to how it is in the picture, minus the 32 rd. promag.

Have three of my family's "firsts". The top is a Model 75 that my grandfather owned and was the first rifle that both my father and myself learned to shoot on.

The Mohawk 10C was my first rifle bought new in 1978, and has distinction(?) of being used in a bank holdup (not by me!) in the 80's. Had to replace the stock as it was broken while in the RCMP's possession, and they lost the mag also. Needless to say this one won't be getting sold. Ever.

On the bottom is the first gun my father bought...a Mossberg 146b-a purchased new in 1954. After years of semi-neglect I found all of the necessary parts and bits, and it is now fully outfitted with all the correct front and rear sights, as well as sling swivels. I still need to find the correct scope (No. 4M4 I think?) that I took off and lost but haven't had any luck there yet.

My first gun was a Cooey model 60, I still have it and always will. My dad taught me to shoot with it when I was just a kid and it has always been one of the most enjoyable firearms I have ever used.

It's nice to hear these stories about family heirloom firearms. My first gun was a Sako 85 that I bought when I was about 35 and started hunting. I'm still trying to sweet-talk my dad's widow into giving/selling me his handguns, if she still has them.

My first firearm is a CIL Model 310 (made by Anschutz). I still have it, and I've never yet seen a more accurate .22.

Ditto.
Mine sits in the cabinet as a "Retired" firearm.
It is prone to the occasional blowback. The bolt is so worn it doesn't seat properly anymore.
After 45 years of regular usage it's just plain worn out.
But I'm keeping it...there's too many good memories tied to that gun.

Customized Cooey Model 82 .22 single shot. Its a sweet little shooter. My Dad paid $65 for it in the early eighties.
