...was at the Edmonton show to pick up some reloading supplies and casually looked for some other items

...how come 8 x 57 Mauser brass is so uncommon...I just picked up a 9.3 x 57 Husky this summer and need to fire form some brass this winter and work up a load and 8 x 57 seems pretty rare...it's there on line...just not many folks shooting 93's or what?

No problem finding it...Tradex, Xreload both stock PRVI 8x57.
I think most folks go for the 9.3x62 which is easier to source brass/factory ammo.

7x57/257Roberts/6mmRem/8x57 all share the same parent case, the 7x57. Any of these cases can be used to make 9.3x57 cases. The thing is, suppliers like Mystic and Tradex have the tailor made cases in stock with proper headstamps and no fuss.

My experience with the 9.3 has been favorable but EXPENSIVE. Not much of a bullet selection, when you can find it and quantities are usually limited. Still, performance on game animals within its range limits is very impressive.

Bullet selection is as good or better then the 270 Win from what I can find... we have Partitions/A-frames/Barnes and other monos/solids/PRVI & Hornady cup-core/Nosler and Woodleigh bonded, from 210-330gr range.

I think there is alot of interest growing for these Mausers south of the border... I see new stuff all the time which is really nice. First time in a very long time.

Maybe mid length Euro is the new "cool" option???

Sure nice to see stuff available to feed these old rifles....
