Whats with the 375H&H haters?

So for the last little while I was thinking I need a 375H&H (mainly for squirrels), so I started watching the EE. Funnily enough its seems to have quite a few of them at any time, most of which are 'rare' of course.
But it got me wondering why the turnover on these guns, the rate seems so horrendous. Is it recoil, ammo costs, crappy rifles, or a combination?
 
Big fan of the 375H&H here, and I'll be taking my Ruger RSM to Africa one day.

I wanted something classic, but reasonably priced. It fit the bill and I don't find ammo price or recoil to be an issue.

It is because the .375 H&H is such a good idea that many buy them... and then realize that it is a totally unnecessary cartridge in NA and they are not going to get to Africa... so they go up for sale. I have bought and sold more .375 H&H rifles than any other... I am a very slow learner... I have another one on the way in as I type this.

Cause they havnt tried the Winchester 458 thats why LOL
I have not shot either and no rush to spend my pension plan testing the waters.

I really like the 375 H&H and had a Browning A-bolt Stalker for a spell that was nice to carry & shot very well. It had the BOSS system for tuning the barrel harmonics which worked good for dialing in the handloads I was feeding 'er at the time. The 375 H&H is one of the most pleasant to load for & accurate medium bore cartridges that I've worked with, especially when using reduced loads & cast boolits. I took out a few grey squirrels and feral cats with my 265 gr pest load.

Only reason I let the Browning go is that I'm not a big fan of stainless/synthetic rifles, plus a buddy of mine was buggin' me for it & I sold 'er to him.

Same with the stainless stalker..shoots 260 gr. Nosler partitions well.It.s a keeper for me

I can't recall ever seeing a crappy rifle chambered in .375, but ammo costs and recoil make it kind of silly to own if you live in most of North America.

Personally, I don't care about such things and I'm trying to decide which .375 is the one for me.
 
I'm out of the .375 H&H game for now. I just sold my last rifle in that cartridge. I did keep all my reloading supplies though. I'm waiting for the right CZ 550 to come along to get back in.
 
I had a 375. Sold it then bought a 300 win. Sold that and got a 30-06. Sold that and currently have a 257 wby. Took me 10 years but I still got dies for all the above.... you know, just in case.

I got rid of mine because I found I needed multiple shots to put the squirrel down...
 
I have a .375 barrel for my Blaser R8 but have never fired it. That will change very soon. I've accumulated a healthy supply of 300gr ammo and will try shooting out to 400m.
 
I think the ruger 375 has alot yo do with it..
Small action .. lighter.. comparable performance.,, also....
People want to.new new.. not old faithfulllll ,,,
Marketing...

Check out the 375 CCC .. better ballistics, then the 375 HH , but not a fast as the 378 WM ...
 
I wanted to take moose hunting more seriously and we have a spike/fork 15 day season. I wanted a good rifle for it so I bought a Sako .375. Could have been a .300 or a .338, but I like the larger diameter bullets.
