Does anyone know about a German Suhl 12 ga shotgun also known as the Thalmann 125 ? I see these around sometimes and also Tradex has a ton of them in various used condition. They appear to be basically a utility grade field gun with extractors. Are these good guns, and could one of these stand up to some usage on the skeet field?

The little bit I know about Suhl firearms is that they were first made in East Germany to a very high quality, & mostly for formal target shooting. When the two Germanies were reunited, the comapny Suhl agreed not to make anymore small bore rifles that could compete against Anschutz or Walther products.
Not sure about the shotguns though or what became of gun manufacturer Suhl as a corporation.

Yes, as far as I know they are a basic, reliable utility gun. I'm not sure how much standing up they will do to a lot of skeet or trap shooting. But then again there isn't much invested so not much to lose.
