whats wrong with my reloads

im using a dillion square deal. The 2 on the left seem to have a bow in the casing. The one on the left is a factory round. It seems to be coming from the depriming die, I can't seem to figure out whats causing it. From the picture you can see where the depriming die stops(the black marking that looks like a shadow).All my loads come out like this but it don't seem to affect the rounds,
they all feed and fire and group great. Should i be worried?

Is your decap pin down too low? If it is the ball that holds the decap pin will bottom out on the inside of the case and prevent the size part of the die from sizing the entire length of the case.
 
I am going to assume that the factory round is the one on the right ( not the left ).
It is hard to tell from your picture but are these 9mm's ??
If so the 9mm is a slightly tapered case & some of them can look a little odd .
But that one on the left does really look not right.

Should you be worried ?? IMO yes until you are 100% satisfied that everything is correct. I would make sure that the dies are adjusted properly & I would also suggest buying a digital caliper & measuring your reloads to a good manual and to known factory rounds.

That they feed great is good but a case that has been sized to much & is a little smaller than it should be will probably still chamber but is not that safe.

9mm's & 40's operate at fairly high pressures, are small cases & minor differences can result in a major ( read possibly dangerous ) increase in pressures.
 
Looks like you need to adjust your shell holder a little closer to your die to size it completly, if it is touching sometimes you have to gring your shell holder a bit too. Also check bleed holes in your die as new ones sometimes have machining grit in them and old ones get plugged with crud.

I thought it was that too. I checked it once, i'll check it again.
If you look at the bottom of the casing where it seems the die did'nt touch is straight. But where the die resized it seems like its skinner then the base. How do i fix that?

yes they are 9mm. I'll be measuring them up as soon as i get a chance.
But my question is if their too skinny, how do i stop it from tapering down so much.

I've never heard of grinding the shell holder before. I think i want to avoid that until i tried every other option.
 
I have loaded and fired thousands of rounds of 9mm.

If yours chamber,fire,extract,and group,you do not have a problem.
The pictures did not show me any clearcut visual cue to an issue.

You are using a carbide sizing die, this will size the 9mm as a straight wall case. It is not. There is nothing wrong with your reload. Just have fun and go and shoot.

It looks to me like your sizing die isn't adjusted properly or your shell plate may be loose. Either way it appears as if it's not being sized all the way down. If it's working in your gun then I guess it's ok, but one thing I would do is check every loaded round through a proper chamber gauge.

Make sure the shell plate has all vertical slop adjusted out of it, and then set the sizing die so that it is touching (but not pressing against) the shell plate when the handle is at full throw. That should do it.

This is a good idea on some presses. I did this years ago to correct a resizing problem on .40's.
However you are using a Dillon SQB ( what I use now ) & they do not use a shell holder. They have a shell plate. Different concept.
