I firmly believe that it is the BIGGEST reason that Old badger loves to be on my left side a few lanes away with his when In am trying to concentrate on a good standing score with my Anschutz!

Ah, the evil machinations of Old Badger!! :( :p

It doesn't work, however, as I can time his shots!
His eyes are no better than mine for seeing close up, and it takes him a while to get a sight picture!:D

Besides, once I get into the zone and "become the bullet" , letting Zen take over, nothing will deter me from making a perfect score!
Well, okay, a VERY GOOD score.

Okay, how's about a DECENT score? :D

I like them all, but I did choose the Browning action. I'm still waiting to find a Browning BPCR in 45/70, I don't know why they discontinued that line:confused: I love my small framed Martini's in .22 rimfire and centerfire, the Farquarson is amazingly tough, to bad Ruger doesn't put a longer barrel on thier 45/70 offering, the only reason why I sold the one I had:( . The Sharps and Remington's are just classic, you can't go wrong with any of the choices, they are all great.

Actually his full name is Zenellii, and he has a crooked nose and a big scar on one side of his face ( walks with a limp) and wears aa big fedora.
One look at him andn the competition just sorta goes away!!:D

They is all better than those crude improvisations where they try to use a cylindrical thingy sliding backward and forward, and twisting and turning! What a silly way to be able to carry extra ammunition!

I like my Martini Action with a 45 70 Chambered ruger barrel :D
Kicks like mule but sure is strong.
Im interested in Sharps but there outrageous prices kinda turn me off.
The Martinis are decent price wise and get stuff just as dead.

Please tell me where you're finding Martinis for cheap.
The Henry actions in particular are getting really rare.
Fortunately some buddys have told me how to get around the OAL limitation on Cadets.
So much so that they're chambering them for 30-30 and 32-40.
Mind you seating depth is crucial.

Have you tried the Greener falling block shotgun action? I picked one up a little over a year ago with intentions of getting it rebarreled into a 45/70. The police shotgun can be picked up at a reasonable price and have been converted to rifles before. I'm not sure when I'll finally get to my project, but it should be a fun toy once it is complete. For now I can still play with it as it is a 12 guage, not the 14 guage like some are.

I've owned (or at least used) all of the actions in the poll but, for whatever reason, my favorite is the Martini - the attraction for me is probably the British Empire (and, to a much lesser extent, Canadian) military history.

Currently only have six - MkI/II, MkIII and MkIV .577/.450 infantry rifles, a ..303 Martini-Enfield Artillery carbine, and two BSA .22's. The MkIII and both of the 22's are Canadian military-marked.

Here's my very nice Canadian-marked MkIII rifle - with a period photo of competition shooters from the Queen's Own Rifles (one of the few Canadian units to get Martini-Henry rifles) as a backdrop ...

Favourite single shot action

I like the Browning single shot, especially the action with the exposed hammer.
The Browning is light, sleek and isn't bulky like some of the others.
I have a number of guns to compare it with.
Starting with a Ruger No1, Sharps, Remington Rolling Block, Trapdoor Springfield's, Ballard, Maynard, Browning 78, Martini's, and Snider's.
I like the Browning to hunt with but the others are more of historical interest to me.
