What's your #1 bullet choice ?

I prefer something that dumps its energy in a reliable way throughout the deer, with two holes on either side of the animal, not something that will expolde on impact hoping it reaches the vitals, right now I like the Federal bonded Bonded tip. 160g our of a 280 Remington. In my opinion the best all game all around cartridge bullet combo.

Who said anything about exploding. Bullets we use to hunt don't explode.
High shoulder shot and energy dump creating mush inside. Don't need a second hole and energy wasted penetrating the ground.

Lots of great deer bullets out there. But if I had to pick just one for the rest of my days it would be the nosler accubond hands down. I believe it's the best all around bullet.

No disrespect to HTH: SSTs not so much for hunting. Accubonds have been more lethal with less damage.

I am a bonded convert now however my son is giving the BST Nosler a go for this fall to compare and i am trying the Federal bonded a try for myself.

While a premium bullet is probably not needed for deer, I would be hunting with the ultra-reliable Nosler Partition
or the next best thing, the accubond. D.

For deer sized game I want a bit faster expansion than most of the premium bullets will do. It's a deer not an elephant and having the bullet dump more energy in the body means faster kills and less chance of losing it.

My favourite deer bullet is the winchester 180gr PP in 30 cal. In fact it's a good moose bullet too.

For deer or anything else Hornady Interlock is all I ever use, I load heavy for caliber and have NEVER recovered one, always pass through and game drops fast.

pencil holes indeed

Deer are far from armor plated. I'd be happy with a 150 or 165 cup and core or bonded for deer with a .308 Winchester. Hornady flat bases usually shoot well and I load them for a lot of guns.
As for what my favorite bullet is I have more Accubonds and Ballistic tips on my loading bench then most, exception being .224 diameter projectiles. Sierra and Hornady dominate there.

Nosler Partition or Accubond

I have cleaned out a lot of deer in my days for many fellas who did not relish the chore, and was always impressed also with Remington Core locet's. I would always find them beautifully mushroomed.
