Tikka T3 lite. I've been shooting 180 grain factory loads but thought I'd try 165 handloads this year. Any primer/powder/lead combos would be appreciated. (Large Game Hunter)

68.5 grains IMR7828SSC
180 grain Speer Spitzers or 180 grain Hornady BTSP's
Whatever cases. Doesn't seem to matter
Whatever primers, large rifle or magnum...any brand
Cheapy creapy Stevens 200 in 300 win mag
$159 Bushnell 24 power mil dot scope
3/4" groups at 100 yards
Can hit 6 1/2" gongs at 700 meters about 70% of the time
I drink WAY too much coffee and have a bit of a shake, so the gun and load can't be blamed for all of the other 30% :D

Sako m75ss 300WM, 180gr Accubonds with 74.0gr of RL-22 with Federal 215Mag Primers, Winchester brass for load development then my hunting loads are the nickelplated Winchester Supreme casings.

Under 0.4" for 5 shot group @ 100metres.

RL-22 is probably the most reccomended powder for the 300WM along with 180gr bullets. The new WInchester Supreme 780 would be another powder to try-its what Winchester uses in their Winchester Supreme ammo for 300WM.

300 Win Mag

Hi

The load I have been using is a 168 gr Nosler Ballistic SilverTip w/ Hodgdons 4350 - 69 1/2 gr. I have not chronyed this yet ,but it shoots great.

For the 165 gr I have used a Nosler Ballistic Tip w/ 71 gr of Hodgdons 4350. As usual reduce loads by a couple of grains then work up.

Straight Shooting

I like the heavier bullets for the 300WM,I shoot 190 grain Hornady over 73 gr.
H4831 for a chrony speed of 2950 fps. The 200 gr. Accubond with 76 gr. IMR 7828 shoot very acurately as well ,I haven't had the chance to chrony them yet, but I imagine they should be close to the speed of the 190's.

300 winmag

180 gr Speer Grand Slam
77.0 gr H4831SC
Magnum primer
Winchester case
avg. 3070fps, 3/4 in @ 100 yds
DON'T try this without working up to it, works fine in my Tikka, but it's over max in most manuals except for a very old Pacific manual.

I see there are lots of RL22 Fans in the room, I have finally weened myself off of this powder... I found it to be very sensitive to temp differentials.
H-1000 is my new go to powder.
200 Gr. Nos AB - 78 Gr. H-1000 - 100M
178 Gr. Hrn A-Max - 80 Gr. H-1000 - 100M
178 Gr. Hrn A-Max - 73 Gr. IMR 4831 - 100M

I shot these last week during some load development with my Tikka T3 300 WM HB... I only had 5 rnds of each loaded but I now have an idea what this rifle likes...

Happy Shooting

Oddly, I've switched to H1000 in one of my .300s as well. It had nothing to do with temperature sensitivity and everything to do with long range accuracy. The RL22 load that performed so well at hunting distances and at the 100 yard line turned into an 8 inch disappointment at 450. Past that, it just fell apart. My H1000 load (79 gr, 190 Berger, Norma brass) is holding about 1/2-3/4 MOA out to 800. It does show that 100 yard accuracy doesn't mean much.

Win----brass(once fired,twice fired only)
Nosler Partition----180gr
Win Mag------primers
H4831SSC----powder
75.5gr---completely filled cases(more than 80% always) use caution
COL----3.345
Velocity----3100 f/s average(hot loads)
26 inch----barrel( browning A-Bolt)
3/4 inch---@ 100 yrds(not bad)
CAUTION----primers being flatten but I like it =========HOT
No walking moose upto 600 yards---------------Long overdue

RojamB21,
I use the same load in my Ruger M77 Mark II.
If you get a chance, try loading the Sierra Game King under the same load charge, same COAL. I have found it very accurate as well and a little easier on the wallet if doing a range trip. Grouping very similar in terms of location on target grid at 100yrds.
Happy Shooting.
