Whats Your build plan for the 125$ NEA lower?

My VISA Card was charged. Getting my LPK ready for the build when the lower arrives here! :D #### hasn't fallen off yet, that's a good thing!

Cheers,
Barney

As the transfers are approved we'll be sending them out. I know Marse has been hermitting in the vault working on the transfers. The first people should start to get them tomorrow and they should all be shipping within a week.

In Transit.

I might just leave it in the box and wrap it up for myself, put it under the tree. :)

I can at least pretend I love it for a moment.

(the wife is getting me KRISS G21 Mags extensions...I will be really excited for those)

Heh.. the Mayans were right after all.
The Prophesy has been fulfilled the final sign of the apocalypse has fallen upon us! ;)

I should have bought one myself at that price. That's ridiculous.
With the money your making from sales in South Africa and New Zealand, I'm pretty sure you could afford a tier 1 lower.
;)

So I got my nea Value Lower. This is a billet Lower? Finish is pretty crappy. Why is there a 'z' stamped on it after the serial number? Just another reject?

I have not attempted to install any parts onto it yet. Have to set up my files and dremel just to be safe.

But it looks the price, that is for sure. My $100 forged lowers look nicer.

I have a REAL Billet lower from ATRS, it is a work of art. If you took this nea to a US gunshow and tried to sell it as 'billet'..they would laugh.

p.s The retail experience from SFRC was excellent of course, the product does not reflect on them in anyway. I knew what I was buying.

I don't make any money from NEA rifle sales. Had I been smart enough to ask for a % of sales landed as an employee I'd be drinking beer for a living. Live and learn. ;) But seeing as even as an employee I got finished products so far behind demand, even as an employee there I would have paid $125 for a lower easily. In fact I just spoke with the CEO the other day and told him that the next time he was insane enough to sell these to retailers for what he did to tell me so I can get a couple.

What don't you like vs your "real billet lower" from ATRS?

What I like about my ATRS 'Real Billet Lower' vs. nea value lower

Weight, Sharpness of Cuts, Larger Flared Magwell, 'Proper' Trigger Guard, Detail of 'Logo', Detail of lettering and serial number, thickness of metal around bolt release pin......
Finish, colour..

Give me a minute to look at it and get back too you...........

Obvious which one is ATRS

Not the greatest pics. But the metal around the bolt release pins is easily twice as thick on the ATRS Lower

Lettering.
ATRS - crisp and bold

NEA faint , spacing is not right. The dash after the number 12 has no space. another screw up.
look at that silly magwell............

Why is the bend in the trigger guard at the back of the trigger guard? Just to be different.
It should be at the front, where your finger is!

Buffer tube threads.
NEA is garbage. Threaded right through. Look at the metal! look at the porous material. Look where the detent goes for the safety, not even cleaned out properly. It would be Awesome to have your safety seize when debris jams it up.
Looks like the metal is stressed and breaking apart when formed. This is some really CRAP 'Billet'

Look at the 'Real Billet' from ATRS. Super Clean cuts and Bevels. Precise threading that ends at the buffer tube detent.
Smooth metal and cuts. A high quality piece of Billet.

Just to muddy the waters I bought a STI International lower and the cost was $158.20 including tax and shipping. It may not be a "nice" as the ATRS lower but it an excellent lower for the money. The safety detent on it was cleaned and AOK.

The safety detent hole is ugly, too fast feed rate on a dull drill, shorter pecks at the bottom of the hole would have left less burr as well

Why did you buy the NEA lower to begin with? In post #24 you said you inspected one "in person" and were wondering if you should have bought two...now you have one and you're upset it doesn't have the finishing of a lower that is 4X the price???
When you saw the NEA lower in person, did you fail to notice the bump location in the trigger guard and the "silly magwell"?

I was joking about buying 2. :)

I am not upset. I got a lower for $125.

That is a funny thing about the 'bump' on the trigger guard.

You see it and you just assume, cool. But when you get it and compare it with the one you have, you realize, wait a minute. They are different, the nea is wrong.

Apologies about the buying two thing. My sarcasm detector must have been switched off ;)
I hear you about the trigger guard. I knew ATRS and NEA lowers had the "bump" but never noticed they were in different spots until you put them side by side! I wish NEA would oil up their parts before sending them out though...they are so dry that they look almost whitish next to that beautiful ATRS lower!
