What's your deer gun?

All of my guns except for the .22 are potential deer guns. Right now I have a Remington 740 carbine in .308 Win, Mossberg 4x4 in .30-06 Spfld, H&R Handi-rifle in .243 Win, SKS, 12 ga Remington 870 Wingmaster, and a .50 T/C Triumph Bone Collector muzzleloader. So far I've taken deer with the 740 and the Handi-rifle, but I would like to take animals with all of my rifles eventually. I don't expect the shotgun will ever have to pull deer duty, shotguns can only be used in the rifle season here so there is no reason to use it except for s and giggles.

Just started using my M14 this year, but have always used my trusty old Remington 74 sportsman in 30-06, has never let me down. Have bagged a doe a few years ago with my Remington 700 in 338 RUM, it was easy to track that one, didnt move from the point of impact lol.

Usually my 7600 in .308 or my 99C in .308 but ocasionally my 11-87 with Challenger slugs.Just picked up an inline muzzleloader so may give that a try next year. Bac4

It was a Remington 700 BDL SS in .280 Remington until Dennis built a .260 Remington on a 700 SA with a Shilen barrel.

I have taken mine with my Beretta Extrema 2, Finnish Mosin, Swiss Arms, M1A. All open sights, don't own a scoped rifle (yet...).

Remington 7600 in 30-06 topped with a williams WGRS peep sight, marble 1/16" ivory front sight and a bad attitude. Like Dogleg said about his, critters just get dead when its with me I swear I could shoot from the hip with my eyes closed in the wrong direction and this gun would still kill the animal! It seems to have a beacon on it, deer and bear line up to fall down

While I check zero and practice with about half a dozen different rifles in as many calibres before deer season, I've found myself carrying the same rifle for a few years now: Marlin 1895 in .45-70 with XS ghost ring and post sights.
