what's your favorite .22LR ammo?

This may be blasphemy but I have no issues with Winchester dynapoints in my Savage mk2 or my 10/22, and they're usually in stock at the Walmart here for a decent price. Although the most accurate ammo I've tried is Aguila sub sonics in the Savage.

I'm really liking SK standard and rifle match, great stuff for the price. Dabbled with some Lapua and x-act was very consistent in a rifle that was unworthy but was fun to see the results of trying it. Have a couple more boxes of it and Midas + for when another rifle shows potential. Haven't tried any eley stuff, and have had mixed results with the rws club and target rifle I've tried.

Haven't tried any match grade ammo yet but my xt22 likes a few brands of bulk and cheaper stuff. Mainly AE hp's in the red box, cci mini mags, federal target match, cheapie blazer. It's not too picky, it likes wildcats as well.

It depends on what it's used for. If accuracy is paramount, it's always necessary to use match grade ammo at distances beyond 30 yards or so; no bulk ammo produces great accuracy, unless minute of pop can defines accuracy. When punching paper at relatively short distances, it's hard for most any ammo to go terribly wrong. But when shooting at 50 yards, it is necessary to use the better stuff.

I agree with under 30yrds its hard to tell average from good, but its not necessary to use top end target stuff at 50 although it will help you out a bunch generally.
This was my first time, first group shooting at 100yrds, please excuse the "flyer" that opened my 5 shot group to .4 :) must have bit my tongue or something. One of the reasons I like CCI Ar Tac, the top target is 50yds and will do that consistently.

I've found that each of my 22s likes a different type of ammo best.

For general plinking, whatever is cheapest is good.

Subsonic doesn't cycle well in most of my semi autos.

I actually have a single shot bolt action that is most accurate with thunderbolts and I have tried everything in it, even the good Eley stuff but nothing groups tighter than thunderbolts, makes no sense, but hey, what works... works!

my ammo is :

SK Standard Plus
Lapua trainer
CCI Quiet
Federal .22LR Gold Medal Match

I buy the cheapest stuff I can find because my Gevarm will shoot any ammo I feed it and it's only used for plinking so I don't need anything special.
