I was using 700x. Now our stores have been sold out. So I tried clays(not universal). I like it too, I use less per charge=more bang for your buck. I have good results with both.
I'm using unique right now. I honestly can't tell the difference between titegroup/bullseye/unique/w231. There was one that didn't burn completely but can't remember off the top of my head.
Titegroup, but only because its cheap, meters properly, and was available when I began loading 9mm. I would likely have used bullseye otherwise, but it's been hard to find.
I've been using Alliant Promo. Because it is a flake powder it fills the case nicely, even at 3.5 grains per load with a 125 gr. round nose lead bullet. Not the cleanest burning powder around but it works and is weight for weight identical to Red Dot with similar ballistics. At about $100/8 pound jug I get about 16000 loads per jug or 1.6 cents per shot. Makes for cheap shooting.
I've used ww-231 for cast bullets and Accurate Arms #7 for jacketed bullets. The AA-7 is definitely nowhere near as smoky as the 231, but that could be the bullet lube....
