What's your favorite bullet for you M14?

For a hunting bullet try the Hornady SST in 150 and 165gr or the Nosler Ballistic Tip in 150 and 165gr. These are good game bullets which I've used to take several deer. They have a polycarbonate/nylon tip which facilitates feeding in a semi-auto like the M14 or Garand.

yup, I know, my comment was referring to the OP's original post and that he mentioned using the bullets for hunting purposes and most guys are giving comments on "plinking" or "target" projectiles.
I have hand loaded nosler partitions for moose n such but I just use the regular federal blue box powershok off the shelf ammo for deer
