Recently picked up a new semi auto 22 and have noticed there is a wide range of 22lr available, just wondering what everyone's favourite "everyday" ammo is? Not necessarily looking for specialty target loads to compete with, just looking for a decent balance of quality and price.

For my semi I buy whatever is cheap. Currently working on Remington golden bullets. I also like the federal 525 packs, and American eagle. Haven't tried winchester 333/555 or wildcat in my semi (Marlin 795) but they had ejection problems in my bolt gun (savage mk2) so I don't buy them anymore.

Cci mini mags are often considered to be a very good combination of quality vs price. I'll be getting more of them to try, my bolt gun didn't like them either but I'm willing to give them a second chance in my semi (the winchester ammo can go to hell though!)

Even for a semi? I don't think my rifle will reliably cycle with those, I know my 22lr handgun won't. They're my go to for my bolt gun though, well under an inch @ 50yds if I do my part, and 1/2" isn't uncommon.

My DAR22 and I VLEH both enjoy CCI Standard Velocity.

CCI MiniMags and the Federal 525 bulk packs for me. Both have been very reliable and accurate in a variety of rifles and handguns.

For plinking, anything that's reliable, inexpensive and plentiful gets my vote.

- My favorite was the older Federal 510 "lightning"

- Currently burning through some old Winchester Dynapoint

These days, whatever's the cheapest. Though each of my .22's definitely have a preferred cartridge. 10/22 likes CCI Mini Mags, GSG MP40 likes Federal Black, Cooey likes CCI Standard and Blazer 40gr, etc etc.

Same here. I have other stuff, but never have I had any problems with the CCI or Federal. the other stuff, even though it was bought at good prices, occasionally exhibits problems. Except Eley, but I don't shoot that much in semis.

Federal value pack
American Eagle 40gr
Remington golden bullets

Perfect for plinking in semis and bolt action. They all get 2moa @ 100m which is good enough for my application

Federal Valu pack is my go to for cheap semi auto action. Its pretty reliable in my 10/22 and I like the loose packaging for being able to grab a handful. Accuracy is good enough for gophers.

Well here we go again> What is accuracy? We talkin about one inch at 25 yds with irons or optics at 50 or beyond that will produce groups 1/2" or better.Bolt gun or semi-auto? Rimfires are like fingerprints and women. Theyre all different and what floats one boat sinks most other, even from the samer breeder. Tried and true are CCI SV and SK Standard plus. Nothing supersonic will shoot accurately past 50 and most wont make it that far. I know ur BR 59 will shoot BLAH BLAH shells into a pin head at 100 yards. Ur full of the stuff that comes out our rear end. Ive seen The fellows with there mini mags shoot in ORPS or CRPS with that dumfounded look on their face and the " I cant understand it, they always worked awesome before" yeah at ranges 50 or under! Why do you think all accuracy records are held by subsonic ammo. Why are all Olympic Medals won with subsonic ammo. Hopefully smart enough to follow the trail laid in front of you. If not, dangerous things like firearms may not be ur forte!!!! Not trying to be nasty but enough threads about accuracy in 22 rimfires to form the link with subsonic and accuracy. Anybody who says HV rimfire ammo past 60 yards is accurate, well ive got a farmer down the road that's in need of ur service.
