What do you own that every single time you go out, that's the gun you take? Me personally, I'm not super rich, but great uncle old win 1200 comes out more times then not. 30" full choke barrel and 2 3/4" chamber. I run Kent Fast Lead through it in either a 6 or 4 shot for everything. What's your guys "go to". Semi autos? Over under? Single shot? Old double barrels? Old pump guns? I think part of it for me, if getting all of my great uncle good luck every time I take out the gun.

Several over the years but this season it is a Remington 1148 16 gauge 25" CYL bore barrel. Light, fast ( maybe too fast after a part season of using 12 ga duck guns) and ample killing power with Federal game load #8's.

Mid 60s Italian SxS hammer gun, 12 gauge, Kent Fastlead 6 or 7 1/2 shot. Choked 15 and 25 thousanths, light modified and improved modified.
There are other fine doubles in the safe, but I have been shooting well with this one.

It has been a Citori 625 Feather in 28 gauge for the last few years, but it will be sharing the task with the AYA #2 in 20 gauge that I purchased during the summer.

12ga Mossberg maverick 88 with 7.5 target loads. Because it's what I've got. I want a 20ga double some day but I'm broke so the maverick does the trick for now.

16ga sxs spanish double. Use 6 and 71/2's. All short quick shots as we hunt in the spruce jungle typical of our area. Like the double for the quick second shot. Usually do not even have time for that so having a third shot would be redundant. Used a 410 for years because it was all I had but was never satisfied as I was concerned about cripples. The 16 punches through the brush and knocks them down.

My go to shotgun has been an older 12 gauge Beretta S686 special for several years now, I use it for most of my upland and waterfowl shooting. However I recently got a great deal on a 20 gauge Grulla sidelock (it cost me less than the Beretta did). It is choked 1/4 and 1/2 (roughly IM and IC) and will likely become my go to shotgun for grouse, pheasants and rabbits. I want to find some 2 3/4" Kent tungsten matrix #5s so I can take it duck hunting too.

Lately my Ithaca model 37 16ga with either 1 oz or 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 or my Dad's Remington 870 20 ga 26" mod choke with 1 oz of 6 or 7 1/2.

My current go to gun is a 20 gauge Remington 1100 with a 28'' Modified choke(factory) 2-3/4'' using number 6 Federal Game Loads from a Gun show vendor who has since passed.
I credit Merv for selling me those great shells !!! ;) RIP Merv.
Took 7 grouse for 9 shells couple weeks ago.
Before that used a 20 gauge Express , Remington 870 Wing Master (that I foolishly sold) and also a Mossberg 410 pump to pot them from the road or trees.
Even used a 20 gauge Spanish SXS last season for a couple grouse and they where taken on the wing then as well.
Sometimes it all comes together and you are good to go !

Sadly its my vz58.
The thing takes a beating, chews up anything, and i hit the gong at 300 on the irons all day long...
I have better guns, but this one just makes me smile the most.

Mostly my Westley Richards hammer double in 12 gauge , 1880's vintage, cylinder/cylinder with black powder cartridges.
sometimes a FAIR 40th Anniversaire O/U in 16 choked IC/MOD, or my Ugartecghea 28 gauge SXS choked IC/MOD
Mostly it depends on the mood I am in, I often change guns halfway through the morning !

Stoeger uplander 410 SXS. Choked full/mod. Grouse for me is a "bycatch". Coming and going to big game hunt i pick up a few. Mostly i remember when i was a kid, shooting grouse with my Dad; out of school while he hunted Moose. I leave almost all the grouse i see for those kids.

A Beretta BL3 in 20 guage. It was made in 1970. 28 inch barrels originally choked full on top and modified on the bottom. I had the modified rechoked to skeet. It weighs 5 pounds 13 ounces as weighed on the local postal scale. Single selective trigger. It is well balanced and just plain fits me. These old arms can carry it a long time without fatigue.

My go to for anything other then waterfowl and turkey is any of my Franchi 48AL's. They are light, fast, reliable and they fit me like a glove. My Franchi's eats any load I feed it, so Im not particular on what loads I use.
