Whats your Hornady 308, 168 grain A-Max load

I have been looking at the data book from Hornady.
The load data seems odd to me when compared with other similar bullet types form other manufactures.

So i am looking to see what folks are using so I can establish a start point for load development.

I'd switch to 155 Amax you dont gain anything buy using 168 Amax
I am using 155 amax 3031 IMR, winchester primers and case, good results at 600-800 yards. Everyone is going to tell you to use varget... I might switch to it too eventually after I burn off all this 3031.

Best advice I got here from others was to switch to 155 Amax, first 600 yard ten shot group after switching was 1.25 Moa in windy condtions and less then 1 moa vertical spread not to bad. :)

Wouldn't the 168's be better for the 1000 yard club?
 
42 grains of IMR 4064 cci 200 primers gives me under .5 five shot groups from my stock heavy barrel Howa, this is a light load and have not tried it past 200 yards yet.
 
42 grains of IMR 4064 isn't TOO light of a load. I do find it a little irritating that the hornady reloading book lists IMR 4064 for the 150-155 range, and the 178-180gr bullets, But skips over the 168 amax! WHY!!!! (and yes, already gotten the info from sierra)

Use any 168 grain data. Who made it doesn't matter. IMR4064 work extremely well, in .30-06, out of my 1903A4.
"...WHY!!!!..." They didn't develope loads for that bullet weight when they were putting the data together for that Edition.

I'm loading 155 A-max's for my M14. No modifications to the rifle from Norinco. It seemed pretty tight to begin with. 200m 5 shots, 4 into just under 1" and 1 off to the side of the group about an inch. Leupold VariX-III 3.5-10x40 in Burris Z-rings and a Springfield Armory mount I bought from the EE. I put a heavy crimp with a LEE Factory Crimper.
