what's your knife?

Whole wack of them depending on what I'm doing.

Either a BK7, Sog Seal 2000, CS recon scout, roach belly, some sort of normark, SAKs, folders (usually a spydie), sometimes 4-6" fillet knife. Gerber hacket or axe usually comes out as well.

I have a black Kershaw folder for my every day, always attached to me knife. I was bought a nice Ontario style hunter a few seasons ago by my wife for Christmas, sharpened it up all nice nice, trated the leather with saddle soap to soften it up, left it in camp the last year we got a deer and we've been skunked ever since. Grrrr.

It needs christening. :)

These are the knives I take with me to deer/moose camp. I only carry one at a time. I also carry my gerber multitool at all times. If im pushing, thats it. If im sitting, I take my pack with my hatchet and/or gerber folding saw.

The left one is a Gerber Gator, the right one is a Delta Watefowl knife I won at a banquet. Not sure who made it as their is no markings on it except the Delta Watefowl logo, but it is extremely sharp, holds it edge, and is easy to sharpen. It feels good in the hand too.

We usually have a carpet knife as well. Like an exacto blade but with a hook. Its great for getting started and then getting into the cavity without hitting the guts.

EDC- Charlie May Oak Swamp in D2.
Hunting- KOA Wolverine, Jaeger and Alpha Wolf, Buck 110, Charlie May Scandi Slitter in S30V.
Fishing- Charlie May B&T Scandi grind.
Also usually have a Gerber Multi Tool close by.
Also have a couple other of Charlie's knives on order.

I use a custom made knife by my father. ATS34 hardened to Rockwell C 61/62. My main knives are a set (main knife and caping knife) with Box Elder (Manitoba Maple) burl handle material. I'll try to dig up a photo of them.

i carry two opinels and the main knife is a stiper handmade
english hunting.

all seem to do the trick

FROM STIPER'S WEB SITE:

Ordering from the UK

The threat of potential legislation of knives by our government has resulted in a sad decision. Our manufacturer who holds the stock and as a result carries the risk of any downturn in sales has decided that the potential for legislation is currently posing too great a risk to continue manufacture and stock. Ultimately this stock could become subject to legislation and thus be controlled to the detriment of sales.

Thus for the time being we are unable to supply this fine tool. We do not have any stock left so are unable to supply even to other countries.

We will happily keep your name on file and let you know if the situation changes. So please drop us a line and an expression of interest.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
