I be lucky to find any at a local store.
$45.95 per 20 at Shooter's Choice, in Waterloo. Still not exactly inexpensive. Site says they keep it in stock, but call 'em first.
Reloading is your friend. The Lee Loader comes in .45-70. Slow, but you can load good ammo with one. Needs a scale too.

closest store to me is in Winnipeg cabelas sells remington core-lok 405 45/70 $42.99 ,Hornady LEVERevolution 325gr $30.99 and wholesale is selling 45/70 LEVERevolution for $33.99 rem core-lok 405 45/70 $45.99
the one price which i think is way out of line (for the better) cabelas is selling remington core-lok 300 win mag 180gr for $23.99 i stocked up at that price and wholesale wants $32.99 for the same ammo

If you intend to reload the brass, Leverevolution factory ammo might not be the best choice. The brass is shorter than the standard length. Similarly if you load the plastic-tipped FTX bullets Hornady recommends trimming the brass more than you would otherwise.
