Whats your longest shot on moose ??

My furthest and closest was a cow moose at about fifty yards and at the same point in time. She ran into a swamp and died. Gutted her up to my knees in swamp water. What a mess.

longest shot on cow moose

Hi,

My longest shot on a moose (cow).. and the only time I ever shot on one was at +-850ft, so just over 275yds with my 7MMRemMag, loaded with a 160gr Accubond. She dropped on the spot....:D .

am i the only one that would s**t his pants if there was a bull moose 3 paces away why not just grab the arrow and jab it in like a spear?

I dunno about that, but i am DEFINATELY going to consider a bayonette option for my next hunting rifle :) :)

longest and closest was 2 yrds(6 feet) last fall with my bow. I was launching Easton 2216's behind a 100gr Thunder head , it was actually less if you factor in my arm being extended when I drew my bow

Longest, shortest, and only shot at a moose was @ 20yds, lasered. :)

Behind the ear with a 250gr 35cal Speer. No need for a follow-up.

You guys that get to hunt moose on a regular basis are VERY lucky indeed! Here in NB, with the draw, it's pretty much once in a lifetime.

One shot, 385 yards with my Winchester Model 70 in 264 Win Mag, 140 grain Nosler Partition - resting over a stump in a clearcut. Scared the crap out of my buddy who was standing behind me, who thought I was just "scoping" the two moose. Same location as my Boone + Crockett Moose taken in 83. Got to get up there again some day. :D

1 at 445 yards across a clear cut
1 at 420 yards across a lake
1 at 340 yards across a clear cut
and last years Redfield Accutrac'ed at 375 yards actual 378 lazered yards across a clear cut
shortest 40 ft.

All done with a 140 grain hornady BT in 270 winchester.

I like that as many long shots are made with non magnums as with magnums.
A guy with a 30-06 and a range finder really is not handicapping himself eh!
