Whats your longest shot on moose ??

I like that as many long shots are made with non magnums as with magnums.
A guy with a 30-06 and a range finder really is not handicapping himself eh!

with the right load, not really. Out past 500 yards he is a little maybe. But not that many people can shoot that far at big game.

I wouldn't think so. Like Foxer said out to 500ish. But what do I know, I have only shot one moose

Farthest (and closest) was aboot 15 yards :D . Actually a pretty hard shot with the scope on. Think I'll go red dot next time as the longest shot where I go is probably 150 yards, average 50-80 yards.

My longest shot was a healthy 275 yards, twice. First time it was with a .303 and 174gr Hornady's. It was also my first moose. Second time was two years ago, same distance across a lake with my .300WM and 180gr Barnes XLC's.

My shortest shot would have to be about 10 yds with my .300WM. Momma moose and baby moose on one side of the lake and papa moose on the other. We gave out a call and papa moose came swimming across the lake to mama. He swam right by us. The end.

30-06 168 gr Barnes TSX - Bang/ Flop

That was the same bullet, cartridge and range as me a couple of years ago - also a bang flop. those 168's are lethal out of the 30-06.
 
658 yards, 300yards and 50yards. Tikka T3 Tac .300 win mag, scope IOR 6-24x50mm, 180gr Fail Safe

200 yards with a Remington 788 in .243 win, 100gr Power point.
