Whats your longest shot on moose ??

Longest shot i did on a moose was 150 yards with a 308 win with 165 grain noslers i loaded myself.I"ve since upgraded to a 300 win magnum case i have to take a 200 yard really long range shot.Don't think i could count the points any farther than that to be sure its legal to shoot these days:runaway:
 
This bull was 120 yds away - closing day 2005. Tikka M695 in .338 WM and 225gr. Nosler Accubonds - Leupold VX3 4.5X14 (I think I had enough gun). Seriously though, my longest shot on a moose was about 8 yrs ago, somewhere between 300 and 350 yds with my 7mm Mag - 175 gr. Speer Grand Slams.

Just shy of 400yrds. 300WM. But I studied the shot for about 45mins before I took it. Glad Mr. Moose was patient.
 
My dad shot a nice bull at 250 yards with his Ruger No.1 45-70 using a 405 grain jacketed bullet. That's a long shot for a 45-70.

468 yds across a clear-cut (lasered), bipod rested, 10 degree downhill slope, no wind, sun to my back :D
300 Ultramag, 180 Swift sirocco.

At our camp we had a pit that lasered 500 yds across. as we went up a couple days before opening we always made it a point to set up some washer fluid jugs filled with water at 500 and have a little competition. The guys shooting the 06's never stood a chance ;)
 
long shot

A couple of years before my Dad passed away he made a shot on a moose that was a measured 770 yards. It was paced off, lasered and measured with the odometer on the quad.:)
The rifle was a 6.5x300 Weatherby Wildcat....I wish Dad and his rifle were still here, we miss you.
 
Never really paid much attention to distance with moose before...they've generally been close (less than 200 yards) and as such, the range was of little concern.

A buddy of mine and I have BOTH been drawn in the same area, during the same season, this year...so we'll have to let you know post hunt...headed out 01 Nov and can't wait!!!
